The writer of the song, Big Yellow Taxi is telling us about the consequences of globalisation. The lyrics seem to be mocking globalisation and implying that globalisation is hazardous to our environment. Although globalisation has make a country more advanced and developed for the people to have a better quality of life and a higher standard of living, environmental degradation caused by globalisation outweighs those points. We have taken for granted our environment and only realise it when everything is gone and has becomed extinct."put'em in a tree museum", this phrase shows us that trees have been cut down without limit and thus trees are now avery rare objects and it is very thought provoking and disheartening to know that now one has to pay to see natural vegetation .
